About LJK University
LJ University (Lok Jagruti Kendra University) is the culmination of over four decades of excellence in education, founded by the visionary Lok Jagruti Kendra (LJK) Trust — a Charitable Trust and Registered Society established in 1980 by some of the most eminent academicians and social reformers of the time.
LJK was founded by Prof. B.M. Peerzada , former Dean of Commerce at Gujarat University, along with global thought leaders like Padma Bhushan Lord Meghnad Desai and Prof. Gautam Appa from the London School of Economics, Late Prof. M.S. Trivedi , former Vice Chancellor of South Gujarat University, the renowned jurist Late Shri Girishbhai Patel , and Shri Subodhbhai Shah . Their shared vision was to be “a key player in education and social development by promoting and nurturing creativity, scholarship, innovation, and excellence through a chain of quality institutes.”
Today, LJK oversees 32 institutes across two eco-friendly, well-developed campuses in Ahmedabad, nurturing over 21,000 students and supported by a team of more than 1000 faculty members . These institutions span diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs across a wide range of disciplines. LJK emphasizes value-based, holistic education that balances academic excellence with empathy, innovation, and social responsibility.
